Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds soul gospel jazz and R&B in a signature mix. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and at festivals in Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician by singing and playing in the church in town. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. She was appointed as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) approached her for the position of choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for her daily shows in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
