Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-learn techniques for the at-home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. The chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has learned about Italy's food traditions and its culture and the surrounding environment. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food at a young age. After obtaining an English and Communication diploma in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. I loved every minute during my time of The Culinary Institute of America she declares. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. Following graduation from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact from a culinary perspective. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to enhance the lives of kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. Burrell is often a guest presenter at conferences, and she travels the country as part of her mentorship task. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate to be able to share her true passion with other people.
